Bahr Mill Complex

The Bahr Mill Complex is an industrial site near Colebrookdale, Pennsylvania, with multiple stone and wooden buildings spread across three acres. The grounds include a two-story mill, residence, smokehouse, sawmill, store, and various sheds along with farm structures.

The complex emerged in the late 1800s as a linseed oil mill before shifting toward woodworking operations. Machinery throughout the buildings dates from that era and reflects the technological changes of the period.

The site shows how water and tools were used to process grain and later wood for local needs. The preserved machinery and equipment tell the story of the daily work that happened here.

The site is easy to walk through since the buildings are positioned within short distances of each other. It is best to allow plenty of time to visit all the structures and see their contents.

A major flood in 1938 destroyed the dam and ended the water-powered operations permanently at the site. This event forced a complete change in how the place operated and marks a turning point in what happened here.
