The Beecher-McFadden Estate features a substantial brick mansion with stone trim, Tudor arches, and plain balustrades across its two-and-a-half stories.
Originally built in 1877 by architect Joseph Lyman Silsbee in Victorian Gothic style, the mansion underwent extensive Tudor Revival remodeling during the 1920s.
The estate was first developed by Reverend Henry Ward Beecher, a prominent minister who advocated for social causes including abolition and women's suffrage.
The estate encompasses 4 acres of land and contains both the main mansion and a large support building with a two-story center section.
The north elevation maintains its original red brick walls with polychrome brick trim, preserving elements from the 1877 construction.
