Blue Hill Plaza, Office complex in Pearl River, New York.
Blue Hill Plaza is an office complex north of New York City comprising a 21-story tower and an 8-story building situated across landscaped grounds. The two main structures are connected by interior public spaces and surrounded by grounds that separate it from surrounding residential areas.
The complex was designed by architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and completed in 1972 by Uris Buildings Corporation. It was developed during a period of corporate office expansion away from Manhattan into surrounding areas.
The main concourse hosts rotating art exhibitions featuring works by local and national artists displayed within mahogany-paneled public areas. The collection changes regularly and brings contemporary art directly to the daily experience of visitors and workers.
The complex provides numerous amenities for visitors and tenants including a fitness center, childcare facility, banking services, hair salon, and postal center. Ample parking with approximately 3,000 spaces is available throughout the grounds with 24-hour security monitoring.
The complex received the Rockland Recycles Award in 2008 for achieving a 40 percent reduction in solid waste. This achievement involved diverting approximately 9,300 tons of cardboard from landfills through recycling programs.
