Billy Graham Library, Religious museum and library in Charlotte, United States
The Billy Graham Library is a museum and library in Charlotte, North Carolina, dedicated to the life and work of an evangelical preacher. The collection includes photographs, personal items, audio recordings, and multimedia installations that document decades of his public ministry.
The building opened in June 2007 and reflects in its architecture a rural tradition reminiscent of a dairy farm from the early twentieth century. The grounds were deliberately designed to echo the preacher's upbringing and youth.
The name honors one of the most recognized preachers in the United States during the twentieth century and draws visitors who want to learn more about his evangelical message. The memorial garden offers a quiet space where people pause to remember those buried here.
The entrance is through a tall glass cross, and the exhibition rooms are accessible by ramps and elevators. A bookstore and café are located on the grounds and offer the chance to take a break during the visit.
The grounds include the restored childhood home, which was moved from its original site and furnished with items from that era. Visitors can enter the rooms and get a sense of daily life for a family during that period.
