Buhr Park, Public park in Ann Arbor, Michigan
Buhr Park is a 39-acre green space in Ann Arbor featuring softball and tennis courts along with a basketball court. Open fields throughout the property provide space for multiple recreational activities and sports programs.
The park was established in 1952 after the city acquired land from Emelie and Arthur Drappawitz. It was named in honor of Joseph Frank Buhr, founder of the Buhr Tool Machine Company.
The park serves as a gathering place where neighbors come together for sports and recreation. Its mix of facilities creates spaces where people of all ages naturally meet and spend time together.
You can enter through gates on Essex Road and Easy Street, with bus stops near the Packard Road entrance for easy access. Parking is available throughout the grounds, making it convenient to reach the facilities.
The grounds feature rain gardens and wet meadows designed to capture and manage water naturally without runoff. This system demonstrates how parks can integrate environmental solutions into urban settings.
