Captain Andrew Offutt Monument, Military memorial in Lebanon, Kentucky, US.

The Captain Andrew Offutt Monument is a marble sculpture located in a cemetery in eastern Kentucky that depicts a man in Union Army uniform. The figure wears a military cap, a tunic-length coat, and holds a downward-pointing sword.

The monument honors a captain in the 5th Kentucky Cavalry, which took part in General Sherman's famous march during the Civil War. This cavalry unit was involved in one of the war's most notable campaigns in the Deep South.

This monument represents one of the few Union soldier memorials across Kentucky and holds significance as a public marker of military dedication. The site reflects how communities chose to remember those who served and died far from home.

The monument sits in a cemetery along a main road in eastern Lebanon, Kentucky and is easy to reach by car. The location near other burial sites means visitors can explore multiple historical graves in one visit.

A Confederate doctor is also buried in this cemetery, making it a rare place where soldiers from both sides of the Civil War rest side by side. This unusual arrangement tells a different story about how the local community moved forward after the conflict.
