Description
Calvary United Methodist Church is a Gothic structure on Beech Avenue with a tall steeple, decorative gargoyles, and elaborate oak ceilings. Inside, the building holds three stained glass windows by Louis Comfort Tiffany that cast colored light into the worship space.
History
A predecessor building was destroyed by fire in 1891, after which the congregation divided. The present structure was constructed between 1892 and 1895 as a new home for the split community.
