The USS Requin is a Tench-class diesel-electric submarine measuring 311 feet (95 meters) in length that visitors can explore through its narrow corridors, command room, engine room, and crew quarters.
Launched on January 1, 1945, and commissioned on April 28, 1945, the USS Requin served in the United States Navy until 1968, participating in radar picket operations and Cold War missions.

The submarine is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:20 AM to 4:20 PM at Three Rivers Heritage Trail in Pittsburgh, with admission prices ranging from $3 to $20 depending on age.
After completing her 5,000th dive in 1963, the USS Requin participated in the search operation for the missing nuclear submarine USS Scorpion in 1968 before her eventual decommissioning.
