Point Bridge II, Cantilever truss bridge in Pittsburgh, US.
Point Bridge II stretched 1,120 feet across the Monongahela River with a steel structure featuring four traffic lanes and a main span of 670 feet.
The bridge began construction in 1925 and opened on June 20, 1927, replacing an earlier suspension bridge that had served Pittsburgh since 1877.
The Pittsburgh Art Commission influenced the design, requiring an unobstructed view from the roadway and specific architectural elements for the steel structure.
The bridge connected the northern section near Point State Park fountain to the southern end close to the Duquesne Incline until its closure in 1959.
Remnants of the south landing remain visible between West Station Square Drive and West Carson Street, with a historical marker displayed at Station Square.
