Point Bridge II, Cantilever truss bridge in Pittsburgh, US.

Point Bridge II was a steel cantilever truss bridge that crossed the Monongahela River with four traffic lanes. The structure spanned roughly 340 meters from bank to bank, allowing vehicles to move between the two sides of the river.

Construction began in 1925 and the bridge opened in 1927, taking the place of an earlier suspension bridge that had served the city since 1877. It remained in use until closure in 1959.

The Pittsburgh Art Commission influenced the design, requiring an unobstructed view from the roadway and specific architectural elements for the steel structure.

The bridge linked downtown areas near Point State Park and Station Square. Visitors today can find the remaining south landing structure between West Station Square Drive and West Carson Street, where a historical marker documents what once stood there.

Remnants of the south landing remain visible between West Station Square Drive and West Carson Street, with a historical marker displayed at Station Square.
