The Cabin Creek Bridge extends 114 feet across Cabin Creek, featuring a Burr truss design without side panels beneath its eaves.
Constructed around 1873, the bridge received additional reinforcement in 1914 when Louis Bower installed supplementary arches on both sides.
Kentucky once contained over 400 covered bridges, with this structure representing one of thirteen remaining examples in the state.
Located 4.5 miles northwest of Tollesboro on Kentucky Highway 984, the bridge remains closed to vehicle traffic since 1983.
The bridge structure creates a window effect along its entire length due to the absence of siding under the eaves.
