Camp Hancock State Historic Site, Military heritage site in Bismarck, North Dakota.

The Camp Hancock State Historic Site contains a log headquarters structure covered in clapboard siding, railroad exhibits, and the oldest church in Bismarck.

Established in 1872 as Camp Greeley to protect Northern Pacific Railroad workers, the site changed its name to Camp Hancock in 1873.

The preserved officers' quarters, dating from 1872, functions as an interpretive museum displaying artifacts that represent early settlement life in North Dakota.

Visitors can explore the site Friday through Sunday from 1-5 pm during summer months, while winter visits require advance appointments.

The facility includes a 1909 Northern Pacific steam locomotive and maintains an active weather station continuing its post-military meteorological mission.
