Civil War Museum, Civil War research center in Richmond, United States
The American Civil War Museum encompasses three locations with exhibitions covering military and personal narratives from the 1861-1865 conflict between Union and Confederate forces.
The museum originated in 1866 as the Museum of the Confederacy and merged with the American Civil War Center at Tredegar in 2013.
The museum collection contains 15,000 military and civilian artifacts, documents, and photographs that represent experiences from both sides of the American Civil War.
The museum provides guided tours every Saturday and Sunday at 11am and 3pm, including musket firing demonstrations at 1pm at the Tredegar Ironworks site.
Two field guns manufactured at the original Tredegar Ironworks during the Civil War period are now displayed at the museum through Richmond National Battlefield Park.
