Civil War Museum

The Civil War Museum operates multiple locations across Richmond and presents exhibitions spanning the years from 1861 to 1865. Visitors find weapons, uniforms, letters, and photographs that document life during this period.

The museum was founded in 1866 as a place to gather objects from the recently ended war. A major change occurred in 2013 when it merged with a museum at the Tredegar Ironworks site and expanded its spaces.
