Knobs State Forest

Knobs State Forest is a protected woodland in Bullitt County covering more than 2,000 acres of upland hardwood forest dominated by oak species. The property features several hiking trails and small parking areas positioned near the main entrance.

The forest was acquired by a conservation foundation in 2006 with the goal of preserving the woodland for future generations. This protective designation ensured that one of the region's important forest habitats would remain intact long-term.

The forest serves as a gathering place where environmental groups hold educational events and nature walks focused on the local woodland ecosystem. Visitors often encounter programs that highlight sustainable forestry practices and the importance of protecting this habitat.
