Clove Lake Park

Clove Lakes Park is an urban green space that includes three connected bodies of water surrounded by wooded areas and forest paths. The grounds feature walking routes, fishing areas, sports facilities, courts for various games, and children's play areas across different sections.

The grounds originated as a private estate before being converted into public recreation space for community members. This shift preserved the natural landscapes while infrastructure was added to serve visitors.

The museum at one entrance presents exhibits about the region's past and environment through displays and seasonal programs. These shows help visitors understand how the landscape and community have developed.

The park is best explored on foot, with multiple entrances providing access to different sections of the grounds. Many paths are level and flat, with shaded areas throughout, making it accessible during various seasons.

A remarkable tulip tree of significant age and size stands within the grounds and represents the largest living organism on Staten Island. This tree is a natural landmark that many visitors miss, but it rewards those who seek it out.
