Built after the Civil War as a farmhouse, the property underwent major transformations between 1911 and 1917 under architect Cass Gilbert's direction.
The residence hosted meetings with Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, Warren Harding, Calvin Coolidge, and William Howard Taft during the early 20th century.
Located at 6940 Keats Avenue South, the Cordenio Severance House now functions as an event venue for weddings, receptions, and business gatherings.
The mansion's library served as a location for Central Intelligence Agency meetings and international policy discussions during the 1920s.
