Crater Lake Lodge, Historic lodge in Rim Village, Oregon, United States.
Crater Lake Lodge is a wooden building on the rim of the lake's caldera, containing 71 rooms and a large dining room that overlooks the water. The structure sits directly at the edge with rooms offering different views toward either the lake or the surrounding forest.
Construction began in 1909 under Portland builder Alfred Parkhurst and opened to visitors in 1915 at the national park. The project was part of early efforts to bring travelers to the newly established park.
The main hall displays a large stone fireplace and tall windows with pine wood details that reflect how early park lodges were designed. These features create a sense of belonging to the natural landscape around the lake.
The lodge is open from mid-May through early October, with check-in starting at 4:00 PM and checkout at 11:00 AM. Plan cancellations at least a week ahead if your plans change.
Guest rooms offer different views of either the deepest lake in the country or the surrounding forest and meadows of the Cascade Mountains. This contrast lets visitors experience the landscape from completely different angles depending on where they stay.
