The land began in 1914 when German immigrants George and Mary Stouch settled on farmland in western Michigan. From this modest agricultural start, the property eventually developed into a multifaceted recreation destination.
The grounds have a rural character reflected in the buildings and landscaping that transports visitors into a countryside setting.
The heated waterpark operates year-round with slides, hot tubs, and lazy rivers regardless of weather conditions. Visitors should know the grounds are extensive, so getting oriented early helps with navigation.
Since 2011, the grounds transform each summer into the venue for the Electric Forest Festival, drawing thousands of music fans. This annual event shapes the summer rhythm of the region noticeably.
