The East Avenue Historic District encompasses 700 structures across 362 acres, featuring mansions, houses of worship, meeting houses, and museums along East Avenue.
The district received its National Register of Historic Places designation in 1979, preserving significant examples of 19th and early 20th century residential architecture.
The area contains the Edward E. Boynton House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1909, and the George Eastman House, recognized as a National Historic Landmark.
Visitors can explore the district on foot to observe the various architectural styles, including Greek Revival, Italianate, Queen Anne, and Renaissance Revival buildings.
The Culver House, built between 1805 and 1816, demonstrates early American construction methods and was relocated to its current position in 1906.
