The Farmers National Bank building stands at the intersection of State Route 161 and Chillicothe Street, displaying Early Commercial architectural elements from 1902.
The financial institution opened in 1900 with a capital stock of 25,000 dollars and received Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation protection in 1934.
The bank's lobby features oil portraits of William Atkinson, the first president, and Mary Mitchell, who served the institution for 60 years.
The building underwent ownership changes, becoming Citizens National Bank in 1993 and later Security National Bank in 2009.
The bank maintained two .38 caliber revolvers behind the counter until 1993 and incorporated a steel cage with bulletproof glass in its lobby design.
