Baland Mosque

The Baland Mosque contains two separate prayer rooms with decorated wooden muqarnas on the columns and ornate mosaics on interior walls.

Built in the early 1500s, this mosque displays Persian architectural elements and underwent renovations during the nineteenth century, particularly in the iwan section.

The mosque incorporates hexagonal friezes with golden inscriptions beneath the ceiling, demonstrating the integration of calligraphy in Islamic religious structures.

The mosque divides its prayer spaces into winter and summer areas, allowing worshippers to gather in temperature-appropriate sections throughout the year.

The wooden ceiling structure features intricate planks complemented by gilded floral frescoes that adorn the walls of the winter prayer room.
