Bremnes Fort, German coastal fortification in Bodø Municipality, Norway
The military structure stands on elevated ground with four gun positions and an underground ammunition depot connected by rail transport system.
Construction began in autumn 1940 as part of the German Atlantic Wall defense system, featuring four 15cm Uto C16 L/45 guns with 16,000-meter range.
The fort holds a somber place in Norwegian history as the location where Johnny Alf Larsen was executed in 1947 under the midnight sun.
The mountain facility currently operates as an event venue managed by Bodø War Museum, which conducts guided tours of the military installation.
Two searchlights of 60cm and 150cm diameter were installed at the fort for illumination during naval operations in the northern waters.
