Palpa District

Palpa is an administrative district in Lumbini Province that covers mountainous terrain with elevations ranging from 300 to 2,000 meters. The landscape transitions from tropical lowlands to cooler subtropical zones as you move upward.

The Hindu Sen kingdom established Tansen as its capital in the 16th century and ruled the region for three centuries. This lengthy period of governance left marks on the architecture and layout of local settlements.
