Lion's Head, Limestone monument along Kennon Road in Baguio City, Philippines

Lion's Head is a limestone carving along Kennon Road that depicts a large animal face with prominent features and a flowing mane. The sculpture sits along a mountain ridge and overlooks the surrounding landscape of the Baguio region.

The Lions Club of Baguio commissioned this carving in 1968, and sculptor Reynaldo Lopez Nanyac completed it in 1972. Following the 1990 earthquake that caused damage, the monument was rebuilt while preserving its original limestone construction.

Local artisans carved this monument to represent the Lions Club movement in the Philippines. The work stands as a symbol of the organization's commitment to community service in the region.

The monument is located at Camp 6 near the boundary between Baguio and Tuba, with a parking area available for visitors. The site sits alongside Kennon Road and offers clear views for photography and observation from multiple angles.

The artist transformed a natural rock formation into a complete carving rather than adding to the landscape. Visitors often notice how the monument fits into the hillside, blending the boundary between sculpture and natural geology.
