Church of Nossa Senhora do Amparo, Catholic church in Benfica, Portugal.
The Church of Nossa Senhora do Amparo features a white stone facade with a bell tower completed in 1840 and an unfinished western tower.
The church construction started in August 1750, faced interruption during the 1755 earthquake, and resumed in March 1780 under master builder João Gomes.
The baptismal chapel contains a panel depicting the Baptism of Jesus, created by the Portuguese artist Pedro Alexandrino.
The church entrance connects to two stone staircases leading to an eastern courtyard where visitors find a cross relocated from the previous church building.
The marble main chapel includes two tribunes with marble balustrades and displays a central opening representing the Holy Trinity.
