The Church of Nossa Senhora dos Milagres stands 19 meters tall with a single nave design in the Terceira Island of Azores archipelago.
Construction of the religious edifice began in 1819 under General Francisco António de Araújo's direction and reached completion in 1842 after 23 years.
The interior of the church contains an Indo-Portuguese ivory figure of Christ from the 17th century, reflecting international artistic connections.
The church maintains regular religious services and welcomes visitors, with numerous other religious structures within a 15-kilometer radius for extended exploration.
Following the 1980 earthquake damage, the church underwent reconstruction and received shrine designation from the Diocese of Angra in 2006.
