The Saint Nicholas wooden church stands in the center of a cemetery yard, featuring a rectangular body and a polygonal chancel apse.
Built in 1718, this church replaced an earlier stone structure from 1330-1340 that fell into ruins by the 16th century.
The interior walls display two painting styles: early miniatures with Slavonic inscriptions and later baroque-style paintings with Romanian text.
Located in the Iza Valley, the church measures 18 meters in length with a 25-meter tower and remains open for Orthodox services.
The church contains a rare portrait of its founder, Pan Vasili Samplonțai of Săpânța, who commissioned the interior paintings in 1754.
