Central Park "Anton Scudier", Timișoara

Central Park Anton Scudier is a green space in central Timișoara featuring decorative fountains, seating areas, and chess tables distributed along pathways lined with plane trees and oaks. The park provides different sections for sitting, playing games, and walking through its layout.

The land served as a burial ground for plague victims starting in 1738 before being transformed into a park by General Anton von Scudier in 1880. This conversion marks a turning point when the city repurposed the site into public green space.

The Alley of Personalities displays 24 bronze busts honoring notable citizens from Timișoara and serves as a place where locals pause to reflect on the city's past. People gather here to remember figures who shaped the community and to understand the stories connected to their surroundings.

The park is accessible by tram lines 1, 2, and 6 as well as express bus line 3, which all stop at the Cathedral station nearby. Visitors can navigate through the space using the marked pathways to explore different areas at their own pace.

The park houses a public pavilion with a free-to-use piano where both visitors and locals can play music spontaneously. This feature turns the space into an unexpected place where musical expression happens naturally.
