Mramorje, Medieval cemetery with stećci tombstones in Perućac, Serbia
The Mramorje archaeological site contains 88 limestone stećci tombstones arranged in rows along the bank of the Drina River.
During the 14th and 15th centuries, local communities created these monumental medieval tombstones as markers for burial grounds in the region.
The cemetery includes different types of monuments such as slabs, gabled roof structures, and horizontal stones, with one featuring a solar symbol.
Visitors can access the archaeological site through Perućac village, located within the municipality of Bajina Bašta in western Serbia.
The site forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage designation that spans across four countries, highlighting the regional significance of stećci monuments.
