Academy of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, Intelligence training university in Michurinsky Prospekt, Moscow, Russia
The Academy of the Federal Security Service is an intelligence training university located in Moscow. It comprises several building complexes with lecture halls, laboratories, and administrative units spread across a fenced compound in the southwestern part of the city.
The institution opened on April 26, 1921, as a training center for Cheka agents, laying the foundation for Russian intelligence education. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, it was reorganized in 1992 and placed under the newly formed Federal Security Service.
The campus sits along Michurinsky Prospekt in the southwestern district, among apartment blocks and academic institutions. The buildings remain closed to public access and blend into the area with their functional design from the Soviet era.
The grounds are not open to the public and can only be viewed from the outside. Visitors may walk along Michurinsky Prospekt to see the exterior facades from a distance, but should avoid taking close-up photographs.
The institution operates its own technical library with archival material on intelligence history, accessible only to enrolled students and faculty. Some of the buildings were constructed in the 1950s following blueprints similar to other Soviet ministries.
