Shushary, Metro station in Frunzensky District, Russia.
Shushary is a metro and railway station in the southern part of Saint Petersburg, serving both subway trains and suburban rail lines. The tracks run at ground level, with side platforms on each side of the trains.
The station opened on October 3, 2019, as the southern terminus of the Frunzensko-Primorskaya Line. It gave the southern districts of the city a direct metro connection after many years without one.
The station's name comes from the industrial settlement that grew around automotive manufacturing in this area. Visitors can sense this working-class heritage in how the station is designed and used today.
The station sits just outside the Saint Petersburg Ring Road, making it a useful starting point for the southern suburbs. Several bus lines connect from here to nearby residential areas and industrial zones.
An elevated pedestrian bridge crosses above the tracks, giving visitors a direct view of trains moving below. This kind of open view over active metro tracks is rare among Saint Petersburg stations.
