Ekonomikum

Ekonomikum is a university building that houses lecture halls, meeting spaces, and study areas with a modern architectural design. The structure contains multiple interconnected floors that support various academic activities and learning environments.

The building opened in 1975 under the name Hum C and received its current name following extensive renovations from 1997 to 1999. Those renovation works brought the structure to its modern state.

Students gather throughout the year to work on projects and study together with peers from different programs. It serves as a meeting space where the daily life of university education unfolds.

The building offers full wheelchair accessibility and provides ample parking for both cars and bicycles. Being close to public transportation stops makes it easy to reach by bus or train.

The architect Peter Celsing used structuralist design principles that emphasize rational construction and functional simplicity. This approach to design still shapes how the building looks and how spaces are organized today.
