Maribor City Park

Maribor City Park is a 5-hectare space that stretches from Kalvarija hills toward the Pyramid, containing three ponds, an aquarium, and varied plantings. The grounds include maintained walkways, seating areas, and picnic spots for visitors to explore.

Creation started in 1872 when the Maribor Embellishment Society converted medieval water storage ponds into the park's western section. This transformation gave rise to the green space that serves the community today.

Classical music concerts happen every Sunday at the central pavilion, where locals and visitors gather for live performances in the open air.

The park offers well-maintained walking paths, benches, and a playground for extended visits. You can explore the entire area on foot and find resting spots throughout.

The three ponds support many water birds and fish species, while the aquarium displays around 120 marine and freshwater creatures. Bird watchers and nature lovers can quietly observe these water areas.
