Basilica of Our Mother of Mercy

The Basilica of Our Mother of Mercy is a Catholic church built in the Romanesque Revival style with twin front towers and distinctive red brick walls. The interior is divided into three naves with a tall ceiling that creates an open, spacious feeling.

The church was completed in 1900 under architect Richard Jordan's direction on the site of a former Viennese monastery from the 17th century. It was elevated to basilica status by Pope Pius X in 1906.
