Lou Pi Kuwa

Lou Pi Kuwa is an ancestral temple in Neipu Township constructed with intricate wooden carvings and colorful ornamental details across its walls and roof surfaces. Inside, the space contains red pillars supporting the structure, and paper decorations and incense holders line the various rooms and altars.

The temple was built by local families as a place to honor their ancestors and maintain spiritual connection to previous generations. The structure reflects building practices that developed over time within the community.

Local residents gather at Lou Pi Kuwa to perform ancestral rituals, burn incense, and participate in ceremonial offerings throughout the year.

The best time to visit is in the morning when light illuminates the carvings well and crowds are smaller. Wearing comfortable shoes is helpful since the floor can be uneven and viewing the many details requires slow, careful walking.

The temple contains multiple altars dedicated to different deities, each representing specific aspects of traditional Taiwanese religious beliefs.
