The Herbarium of Taipei Botanical Garden contains over 525,000 plant specimen sheets and maintains a comprehensive seed bank for scientific research.
Constructed in 1924 during Japanese rule, this herbarium became the first specialized plant preservation facility in Taiwan's history.
The herbarium reflects Taiwan's scientific heritage through its collection of native flora specimens and documentation of local plant biodiversity.
Researchers and students can access the facility from Wednesday to Sunday between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM at 53 Nanhai Road.
The herbarium participates in international botanical collaboration through agreements with European institutions for plant conservation strategies.
