National Museum of Ukrainian Decorative Folk Art

The National Museum of Ukrainian Decorative Folk Art is housed in the former metropolitan chambers at Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and contains over 75,000 objects of traditional craft and decoration. The museum was founded in 1899 as part of a larger antiquities and art collection, then became an independent institution in 1964. It received national status in 2010 and has continued to grow as an important center for preserving craft traditions.
