The National Kyiv-Pechersk Preserve spans across steep slopes above the Dnipro River, encompassing multiple museums, churches, and underground cave networks.
Founded as a monastery in 1051 when monks began residing in caves, the institution received official preserve status on September 29, 1926.
The preserve maintains collections of early printed books, manuscripts, religious artifacts, and houses several specialized museums focusing on Ukrainian heritage.
Located at 9 Lavrska Street in Kyiv, the preserve welcomes visitors daily from 10:00 to 18:00, with ticket sales ending at 17:30.
Professional equipment from West England University enables 3D scanning of artifacts while a planetary scanner facilitates digital preservation of historical documents.
