American Surety Building, Neoclassical skyscraper at Pine Street and Broadway, Manhattan, US.

The American Surety Building reaches a height of 103 meters with 26 floors and features a granite facade with classical architectural elements.

Built in 1896, this structure pioneered the use of steel framing and caisson foundations, marking a significant advancement in skyscraper construction techniques.

The building's three-part design, resembling a classical column with base, shaft, and capital, influenced numerous subsequent tower designs in New York City.

Seven elevators serve the office spaces throughout the building, which now includes retail establishments such as Duane Reade and TD Ameritrade at street level.

The construction process required workers to dig in pressurized metal chambers with piped oxygen until they reached bedrock for the foundation installation.
