Iron Dragon

Iron Dragon is a suspended steel roller coaster at Cedar Point that winds through wooded areas and travels over artificial lagoons along its path. The ride operates three trains with seven cars each to move guests through the course.

Arrow Dynamics built this attraction in 1987, replacing the Western Cruise boats that had operated at the site before. This addition marked a shift in Cedar Point's direction toward thrill rides.

The dragon theme ties this ride into Cedar Point's collection of attractions that shaped its reputation as a destination for coaster enthusiasts. Visitors recognize the dragon name as part of the park's iconic lineup of rides.

The ride processes a large number of guests per hour due to its three-train system and can accommodate up to 28 riders at a time. Plan your visit during quieter times if you prefer shorter wait times.

The ride features two parallel lift hills that run in opposite directions, creating an unusual design element. Mist sprayers beneath the helix section add an extra sensory effect as riders pass through.
