Top Thrill 2

Top Thrill 2 is a steel roller coaster in Sandusky that rises 128 meters high and runs for 853 meters. The ride uses a launch system that propels passengers along a track with multiple drops and an inversion.

The coaster opened in 2003 as a dragster version and closed for redesign after technical issues. After major changes, it reopened in 2024 under a new name with a second launch and revised track elements.

The design reflects American drag racing heritage through its launch track configuration and acceleration system that mimics professional racing vehicles.

The ride lasts less than one minute and accelerates passengers to over 120 mph (190 km/h) in seconds. Visitors sensitive to sudden speed or extreme height should consider this before riding.

After redesign, the coaster became one of the few worldwide to feature two consecutive launches during a single ride. The second launch occurs backward and adds an extra burst of acceleration to the experience.
