Shoot the Rapids, Log flume ride at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, US
Shoot the Rapids was a water coaster at Cedar Point in Sandusky featuring two major drops, with the second crossing beneath the first. The ride stretched about 2,100 feet (640 m) long and climbed to a peak height of roughly 85 feet (26 m).
The water coaster opened in 2010 as an Intamin-manufactured ride at the park. It operated from June 2010 until the park closed it in September 2015.
The ride's design drew from American West themes with its rock formations, spouting water geysers, and shadowed tunnels. Visitors experienced these frontier elements while moving through the water course.
Each boat held about eight passengers per ride. The layout featured two separate lift hills to keep the water course moving and process multiple groups.
The ride featured artificial geysers that sprayed water at several points along the course during the journey. These bursting effects added a refreshing and unpredictable element that caught many riders off guard.
