Valravn is a steel dive coaster at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio, with a track spanning 1041 meters (3415 feet) and three inversions. The trains navigate loops and drops at speeds reaching 121 kilometers per hour (75 miles per hour).
Cedar Point trademarked the name Valravn in May 2015, and the layout leaked through the park's smartphone app that August before plans were unveiled on September 9, 2015. The last piece of track was placed on March 2, 2016, and the ride opened on May 7, 2016 as the 100th Bolliger & Mabillard coaster and the first Dive Coaster in the Cedar Fair chain.
The name comes from the valravn of Danish folklore, a raven of the slain said to feast on the bodies of those who die in battle. Cedar Point trademarked the name in May 2015, and the ride followed Rougarou (2015) in drawing on folklore. A sign reading "VALRAVN" stands at the ride's entrance.
Each train holds 24 riders arranged in three rows of eight seats, secured with vest-style restraint systems and seat belts. The wide seating layout allows good views of the track throughout the entire ride.
The highest point of the structure reaches 68 meters (223 feet), where riders pause for several seconds and look out over the park. They then plunge straight down at an exactly vertical angle for 65 meters (214 feet).
