Piscataway

Piscataway is a township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, combining residential streets, office parks, schools, and sections of a major university campus. The area sits in the central part of the county and covers territory that includes both developed zones and quieter stretches.

Quakers and Baptists from New Hampshire founded the settlement on October 31, 1693, to escape religious persecution. Over the centuries the place grew into a suburban area with expanding communities and institutions.

Students from diverse backgrounds attend Piscataway Township Schools, which include Arbor Intermediate School, Conackamack Middle School, and Piscataway High School.

Roads run through residential and commercial zones, with some sections easier to reach than others. Local services such as fire stations and health facilities provide infrastructure and safety support.

SHI Stadium, home to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team, sits within the township. The larger Rutgers University campus also extends into the area and shapes the local landscape.
