Central Jersey

Central Jersey is a geographic zone in the middle part of New Jersey, situated between the northern and southern sections of the state. The region covers seven counties and forms the connection between the two other main regions through its location.

The boundary between East Jersey and West Jersey ran through the present area and shaped early settlement patterns. This historical division influenced the development of local communities well into the eighteenth century.

The region contains multiple educational centers, including Princeton University and Rutgers University, which shape the intellectual landscape of New Jersey.

The region offers several highway connections and rail lines that allow easy passage or a starting point for exploration. Visitors find hotels and restaurants along main transportation routes, making short stops or longer stays convenient.
