Schaufelspitze

Schaufelspitze is a peak in the Karwendel mountain range rising to 2,306 meters with steep rocky slopes and multiple climbing paths through the terrain. The mountain displays different landscapes across its elevation zones, from forested lower sections to exposed rock formations higher up.

Local climbers established the first documented routes on the mountain during the 19th century, marking the start of alpine exploration in the region. These early expeditions formed the basis for the paths used today.

The mountain area maintains traditional Alpine farming methods, with seasonal grazing patterns that have shaped the landscape for generations.

Access starts from the villages of Eben am Achensee or Vomp with marked trails leading through different elevation zones. Visitors should prepare for changing weather and wear sturdy footwear.
