Shahdag Mountain Resort is a winter sports destination in the Gusar region with slopes of varying difficulty. The terrain spreads across a large mountain valley between 1,435 and 2,525 meters (4,700 and 8,280 feet) in elevation with multiple lifts and runs.
The resort was founded in 2012 by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture and Tourism as the nation's first national ski resort. This project began the development of winter sports in the region.
