The Monument of the Holy Mother of God

The Monument of the Holy Mother of God in Yamacha Park is a towering religious statue standing approximately 14 meters tall on a 17-meter pedestal. A chapel dedicated to the Nativity sits at its base.

The monument was consecrated by Metropolitan Arsenius during an official ceremony in September 2003. It later received recognition from Guinness World Records in 2005.

The chapel at its base reveals how deeply rooted the veneration of Mary is in the faith of local people. Visitors can see that this remains an active place of worship and prayer today.

The site is typically open to visitors from morning through evening, with hours varying by season. Access is free, and you can reach it easily on foot from the city center.

This monument received a world record title in 2005 as the tallest statue of Mary holding the Christ Child. This distinction makes it notable among religious structures on a global scale.
