The Regional Natural History Museum contains twelve permanent exhibitions with over 20,000 specimens displayed in showcases, aquariums, and terrariums representing global biodiversity.
The museum opened in 1960 following a 1951 proposal by the Executive Committee of the Town Council to preserve local flora and fauna collections.
The museum maintains regular educational programs, workshops, and exhibitions that connect the local community with scientific knowledge about natural history and environmental conservation.
The facility operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, offering different ticket prices for the main exhibition, Tropic Hall, and planetarium shows.
The museum features a digital planetarium installed in 2015 by Evans & Sutherland, plus six marine aquariums containing 7,500 liters of water.
