Cuatro Torres Business Area, Business complex in northern Madrid, Spain
The Cuatro Torres Business Area is a complex of four skyscrapers in northern Madrid, with heights ranging from 230 to 250 meters. They stand along the Paseo de la Castellana and form a connected group of modern office buildings with distinct facades and footprints.
The area developed between 2004 and 2008 on the former training grounds of Real Madrid in the Chamartín district. Construction marked the shift of this zone from a sporting to an economic center of the city.
The names of the towers honor institutions and companies, while their lobby areas show how modern office architecture redefines public space in Madrid. Visitors see the different materials from glass to steel that each tower uses, revealing contrasts between European and American building traditions.
The complex sits north of the city center and is reachable through Begoña metro station on line 10. Several bus lines connect the area with other parts of Chamartín and the rest of Madrid.
Barajas Airport adjusted its emergency flight paths to account for the towers, which rank as the tallest buildings in Spain. Their construction also changed the skyline of Madrid and the way residents and visitors perceive the city from a distance.
