Leioa, municipality of Spain
Leioa is a municipality in the Basque Country located along the coast of the Bay of Biscay, forming part of the Greater Bilbao area. The town sits on the north bank of the Nervión River across from Bilbao and is characterized by residential neighborhoods and parks.
Leioa developed over the 20th century from a small village into a modern residential town as Bilbao's influence and growth expanded. The municipality long served as a home for workers employed in the nearby industrial city.
